Chip Miller co-founded Carlisle Events in 1974 and throughout his personal and professional life, was a die-hard automotive enthusiast. Sadly, we lost Chip in 2004 to a rare disease known as Amyloidosis. To honor his memory, his namesake foundation, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF), is proud to share that an all-new scholarship has been established. The scholarship is intended to support the next generation of students who share Chip’s love for all things automotive. Every year at Carlisle Truck Nationals, The Old Fire Farts of York County presents a unique display of Fire Truck History within Building T. This display is always a real treat for truck enthusiasts and attendees!

The Old Fire Farts of York County are a group of active and retired firefighters who restore antique fire apparatus and work to preserve the fire history of this country. They provide an appetizer of vehicles which will further highlight their York Muster held every Fall. When you enter Gate 3, expect the event to feel a little more down to earth. This "show within a show" welcomes lowered trucks all in one designated area inside Gate 3! If you want to be a part of the Low Show, simply register with your club (or sign up your club HERE). If you are not part of a club, when you register for the Showfield, click the "Truck Club" dropdown and select the "Low Show- No Club Affiliation."

Part of what makes Truck Nationals what it is, are the clubs that attend! If your club is not yet deemed an Officially Recognized Club, the first step is to apply HERE. Officially Recognized Clubs have the ability to rent a club tent as a place to hang out and socialize!

If your club gets a club tent, you also have the chance to compete in our Hemmings Club Challenge & Coolest Club Contest! The Hemmings Club Challenge Award is presented to the five largest official clubs, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Coolest Club Contest is based on if we feel like your club tent is the place we'd want to hangout in. Whether that be the atmosphere, decorations, or anything else that makes the club stand out!

Additionally, if you are part of a fleet, you have the ability to participate in the Fleet Challenge & the Coolest Convoy! The Fleet Challenge Award is presented to the largest fleet at the show, while the Coolest Convoy is presented to the group that looks to be having a great time with their fleet!

The not-for-profit American Truck Historical Society was formed in 1971 to preserve the history of trucks, the trucking industry and its pioneers. We are excited to welcome a regional showing of American Truck Historical Society members at the Carlisle Truck Nationals.

Look for their trucks in the Featured Vehicle Displays and on the Showfield (behind the Pavilion) and be sure to talk with their members about trucks and the history of trucks. Like most of us here, we all like to share our passions for trucks.

The ATHS has over 21,000 members in the United States, Australia, Canada and 20 other countries worldwide. Their mission is to collect artifacts, information, photographs, and other relevant materials pertaining to the origin, development, and progress of the motor truck transportation industry; to verify and establish the authenticity and accuracy of the collected information and materials; to place or arrange for placement of all objects, gifts, artifacts, and other items on display for educational purposes that relate historically to the development of the motor truck industry; to serve as a repository for donations, gifts, and bequests.

To be picked for the Carlisle Elite, your car doesn’t have to be rare or a high dollar, professional restoration. In fact, the only real criteria is that it catches our collective eye. Make sure your vehicle is registered and parked on the Showfield on Friday to be eligible!

When the sun goes down Saturday night, the Big Rig area lights up! The Big Rig Glow Show is something you don't see anywhere else. Stick around and see this fun light display on Saturday evening. The Carlisle Events' staff will award the coolest lit-up rig to receive a trophy on Sunday.

On Saturday evening of Carlisle Truck Nationals, visit the track to get your fix for tire burning excitement during the Rolling Burnout Contest!

The contest is limited to 25 contestants and sign-ups will begin Friday at Guest Services. You must be a registered participant at the show and provide your driver’s license & insurance card when signing up.

Are your standards low? Do you long to let your friends down? Are your goals simply not as high as some of the lifted lifers at the Truck Nationals?

If you can answer yes to those questions and you own a lowered truck, you just might be the perfect participant for the Low Truck Limbo at the Carlisle Truck Nationals. Join us Saturday as we lower the bar and lower our standards of measurement. We invite all of our lowered life pavement scraping friends to get down at the grandstands for the Low Truck Limbo. We promise DJ Rob will do his job and set the atmosphere, while we lower the bar for your enjoyment and look forward awarding the lowest possible performer of the Carlisle Truck Nationals limbo.

Join or watch the High Truck Contest on Saturday of the Truck Nationals. Lifted truck builders share and show the lifted life and their sky view seats at the Grandstand. We’ll take a measurement from the ground to the pinch weld and after a quick tally and simple math, we’ll award a winner!

The Low Show has peaked the interest of those wanting to participate in the annual Frame Dragging Contest. As some may know, the trucks that have Titanium Blocks spark like crazy, but the ones without Titanium Blocks don't as much. In order to make things inclusive for all lowered trucks, we are judging on two categories within the same contest. We will crown three winners for trucks with Titanium Blocks & three winners for trucks without Titanium Blocks.

As an attendee, this just means you get to see more trucks dragging on Saturday night! The Frame-Dragging Contest has moved locations! The contest will take place at the Track on Saturday night.

If you want to participate in the contest, visit Guest Services at the event to sign up. Space is limited! If you like’em low and laid out, this is the spot to be on Saturday night!

When you bring your kids to this year's Truck Nationals, there will be different things they can participate in at the show! Check them out below: 

Ride a Real Monster Truck- Climb aboard the Virginia Giant ride truck for a ride that will have you on the edge of your seat as you crush cars near the autocross track. The Virginia Giant is suitable for guests of all ages, and makes a great activity for the whole family!

Monster Truck & FMX Shows- Watch with amazement and excitement as Monster Trucks duke it out in car crushing exhibitions throughout the event weekend. Accompanying the Monster Truck Shows on Friday & Saturday will be FMX shows! Check out the event guide for the official show times. 

Kid's Goody Bag- Available for pickup at Guest Services for kids 12 and under! Parents will receive a goody bag coupon for each kid when they pick up their Showfield Goody Bag or when coming in with a spectator admission ticket. Some goodies within the bag are a coloring book, free cup with a coupon for a free drink at the food court and more! Limit one per child, child must be present. 

RC Car Giveaway & Kids Cash Grab- Kids 12 and under can sign-up to potentially win an RC Car! When signing up for the giveaway, they are also eligible to be chosen for the Kid's Cash Grab. The Giveaway sign-up is located in Guest Services. Winners of the RC Car & kids selected for the Cash Grab will be contacted via phone!

Kids Bingo- Kids 12 and under can participate in Kid's Bingo and potentially win some cool prizes! Check out the event guide for the time and location.

Kids Choice Award- Kids can cast a vote for their favorite car within Building T and the owner of the car will get an award!

Get your moment of glory on Sunday by showcasing your winning truck in the Winner's Parade! The Judged Showfield Winners List will be posted at 9AM at Guest Services and online. The Big Rigs Awards will be presented in the pavilion at the same time. All winning vehicles from both fields will have the chance to shine during the Awards Presentation on Sunday. Winners who choose to participate will parade their trucks in front of the Grandstand to be introduced and photographed.

Professional photography will be available during the parade ceremony, with photos available for purchase on-site. Please refer to the Event Guide for the official time (published two weeks prior to the event).

For those unable to attend the presentation, awards can be picked up Sunday from 9AM to 12PM. If you can’t make it, your award will be available for pickup during regular business hours at the fairgrounds, or we can ship it to you for a fee.

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?” 

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!

1. BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
2. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
3. SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
4. REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
5. COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
6. ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
7. NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
8. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
9. LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
10. USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
11. STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day. Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
12. BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
13. BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
14. HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
15. FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride. 
16. ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
17. KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
18. AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
19. WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
20. ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for.  It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare.
